No, we do not outsource our services. All services we offered are done by our team.

What types of events are your speciality?
Weddings are our passion and make up over 90% of the business. We also cater to corporate functions as well.
How would you define your “style” or approach to providing DJ entertainment?
We train our team to be “classy-cool” on the mic. We are the “sound-track” of your event, but you are the “face” of it. Our performers’ presentation is polished and understated, marked by artistic mixing and a professional “cheese-free” approach to announcements and microphone work. Many of our competition think it’s their job to put on a show and be the center of attention at all cost… We firmly believe that your wedding is your show, and we have no interest in taking the spotlight from you. Your dance floor will be busy, but it will be because the DJ selected just the right songs from your request list and mixed them in just the right sequence – not because they chattered endlessly on the microphone.
What areas do you serve?
We are centrally located in the San Gabriel Valley. We service the greater Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego County.
Do you offer free consultation(s) on your event?
Yes! We offer unlimited planning and music consultation.
Will the DJ work from a custom playlist?
All our DJs are happy to personalize the music and soundtrack around your taste(s). Your input is very much welcome.
How about songs that are not in your library?
No problem. We have varies legal (paid) outlets where we can try to search for your song(s).
What type of equipment do you use?
We proudly outfit our DJs with Pioneer, QSC, Shure, JBL Bose, and other professional brands.
How will the DJ and MC dress for my event?
We like to blend in with your guests. Our DJs and MCs will dress in suit & tie.
When do you arrive to set up for an event?
Our team always arrive on-site at least an hour and a half prior to the contracted start time of the event, and earlier as necessitated by the setup requirements of the site.
What happens if there is an emergency?
We have backup systems, technicians and DJs/MCs in place each weekend.
Do all your DJs beat-mix or do they just fade song to song?
Unless otherwise requested; all our DJs beat-mix the music, whatever genre(s) it may be. This allows us to keep the happy energy flow and your guests up dancing throughout the party, regardless of the music styles selected.
Do you move your gear from room to room (cocktail area to the reception)?
We bring enough gear to do the event without having to have a break in music.
I don’t want the music at my wedding to be a traditional wedding soundtrack. Can we do something more eclectic?
Absolutely! We’re not at all attached to tradition – we’re here to incorporate the music you request, and to mix it in a way that will create the wedding and energy you’ve envisioned.
How involved are you in helping us plan our music?
We are here to help! During our planning meeting, we work out a bulk of the music with you, figuring out your style and tastes to make the music selections that day. Spotlight Groove Productions takes detailed notes to organize your music choices, timeline and all other relevant details.
How involved can we be in selecting music for our event?
We encourage you to be as involved as you would like to be! If you would like to select every song, we are happy to accommodate you. Most of our couples, however, prefer to discuss their preferences and at least pick a few specific requests such as first dance, cake cutting etc. That helps in alleviating the stress of picking out everything/enough music for your event.
What kinds of music are included in your collection?
We own an enormous library of music in all formats and genres. We update our collection constantly, ensuring that we can provide the songs that our clients and their guests are currently enjoying. Furthermore, we work closely with our clients in selecting the music for their event, and will gladly acquire any commercially available song that we don’t already own at no additional cost.
Do you charge for set-up or tear down time?
What is included in the cost of my event?
The cost includes delivery, setup time, breakdown time, and all equipment and wiring outlined in the selected package-deal.
Is Spotlight Groove Productions recommended by hotels, reception sites and wedding vendors?
Yes, we work with many of the top wedding venues and vendors throughout Southern California.
